Cove Island Jetty

Construction and Rehabilitation History
A 400-ft-long jetty was constructed on the east side of Cove Island
1958
crown elevation, a 5-ft
(Figure 54). The jetty consisted of a
side slopes, a sand-tight run of quarry core,
crown width,
and a 3-ft-thick double layer of cover stone. The State of
Connecticut, which constructed the jetty, was reimbursed by the
Federal government for one-third of the project cost.

The jetty has no known repair history, and its present condition i

unknown.
