Construction and Rehabilitation History
The project was authorized, including a 13-acre basin protected by a
1945
1,430-ft main breakwater and a 200-ft entrance breakwater. The basin
was expanded to 15 acres during the design stage.
The project was constructed, including a 15-acre basin dredged to
-10 ft mllw and two rubble-mound breakwaters. The breakwaters were

stone and a 6-ft layer of armor stone.
