Construction of a
north breakwater and a 690-ft-long
1976
south breakwater (Figure 198) was completed. The north breakwater
was a rubble-mound structure with a 15-ft-wide crest and
side slopes. The crest el was
ft lwd for the shoreward 300-ft
ft lwd for the remaining portions of the structure
length and
(Figure 199). Cover stone ranging from 4.5 to
1 tons was used. The

south breakwater was a rubble-mound structure a l s o with a crest el of
ft lwd
and cover stone ranging from 350 to 850 lb were utilized.
1984
A site inspection of the breakwaters indicated that they were in very
good condition. An aerial view of the Lexington Harbor breakwaters
is shown in Figure 200.
